We would like to take this opportunity to welcome you and your child to Coyote Ridge Elementary School. We are looking forward to working with you throughout this year to make your child’s beginning in elementary school a success. Kindergarten is a time of excitement, wonder, exploration and discovery. Through fun hands-on activities, your child will work hard to academically prepare for first grade. We hope the information in the following documents will provide you with a helpful overview of our Kindergarten procedures and expectations.

Remote Learning

Welcome Kindergarten Families!

As we begin this remote learning journey together, please remember that we are here to support you and your child. Please also remember that this is new to all of us and we appreciate your patience, grace, and understanding as we too are navigating working from home and working with new technologies.

Seesaw will be our main learning platform following an asynchronous learning idea (meaning students may access content at different times and from different locations). Teachers will not be posting live teaching videos. All videos will be pre-recorded so your child may access the video when it best fits your schedule. All communication for learning activities will be sent via Seesaw. Please make sure you are checking Seesaw daily for additional videos. Each Monday we will post assignments on a learning board on Seesaw. The learning board will include assignments for Math, Writing, Foundational Reading, Reading, Social Studies/Science. You will also see some additional fun learning opportunities that are optional in our “Try this” section. These assignments are to be completed at your pace during the week and are due by Friday each week at 3:10. We will be using the following websites for learning activities/assignments:

Please look for the unique user code that will be sent from your child's teacher to join the remote learning on Wednesday, April 1st.

Attendance will be taken by student participation and assignment completion of all required assignments on the learning board. However, if your family’s schedule allows, there will be additional optional activities. As per district recommendation, students will be receiving 25% of their typical face to face content instruction and assignments. Attendance will be taken every Friday by 3:10pm. Completed assignments must be returned by this time for your child to be marked present.

Grades will be given for participation and completion of learning activities. Parents are welcome to support their child with clarifications, directions, and any modifications based-on your child’s unique needs; however, the assignment needs to reflect the child’s thinking and work.

Office Hours: We will be hosting office hours daily. You can reach us through office hours by sending a message on Seesaw or emailing us.

Office Hours: Mondays-Friday: 8:00-9:00am, 12:30-1:30

**If there are changes to these office hours your child’s teacher will reach out to you.

We truly miss seeing our children each day.  Thank you for your endless support as we continue to keep students learning and growing in kindergarten!
