State Assessment Results

State releases school results from 2018 CMAS tests in English Language Arts and Mathematics

CMAS tests are intended to measure how students are addressing the Common Core Standards and also how students are using creative and critical thinking to solve problems. These scores were obtained by our Grade 3-Grade 5 students on the spring assessment, but they are a reflection of work being done with all of our students at every grade level.

3rd, 4th, and 5th Grade English Language Arts/Literacy:

Grade 3 – 77.3% met or exceeded the standards, which was a 7.0% increase from last year.

Grade 4 – 67% met or exceeded the standards, which was a 3.4% increase from last year.

Grade 5 – 64.9% met or exceeded the standards, which was a 4.2% decrease from last year.

3rd, 4th and 5th Grade Mathematics:

Grade 3 – 83.9% met or exceeded the standards, which was a 15.3% increase from last year.

Grade 4 – 65.3% met or exceeded the standards, which was a 7.0% increase from last year.

Grade 5 – 68.4% met or exceeded the standards, which was a .07% decrease from last year.

As you can see we had some impressive gains in most areas and some significant improvement in the area of mathematics in particular. Overall the results are an indication that we are on the right track and that our teachers and staff are providing an exceptional academic environment for every student at Coyote Ridge Elementary.

Sincerely,

Dr. Mike – Principal Coyote Ridge Elementary
