Dear Parents and Guardians -
We want to welcome everyone back for the 2018-2019 school year! We hope that you had an enjoyable summer and that you were able to spend some quality time with family and friends.
This school year, we will be focused on building and maintaining relationships between students and staff and taking the steps necessary to meet the needs of every child. There is more and more research supporting the fact that children need to feel connected to adults and peers in order to learn and grow as individuals. We also will be focused on consistent discipline practices and working together as a staff on the units of study in anticipation of a new literacy adoption mid-year. Staff training and development will be centered around these important areas throughout the school year.
For those of you that are new to Coyote Ridge Elementary, please note that we hold an Open House so that students can come and meet their teacher and drop off school supplies as well as Back to School Nights once school has started so that parents can hear directly from their child’s teacher about learning expectations and goals for each classroom. Check out the calendar on the school website for important dates.
Finally, we are looking forward to having every classroom in the building this year. With the reduction in numbers, teachers at nearly every grade will have common plan time and additional opportunities for collaboration. We also will have fewer students during grade level lunch times and recess periods. All of these factors will result in a closer school community. As always, we look forward to working in partnership with you as we work daily to meet the needs of our students. This year is full of possibilities. Looking forward to seeing all our students and hearing about what they learned over the summer and hope to learn this school year. See you soon.
