October Newsletter

Dear Parents and Guardians -

Parent/teacher conferences will be taking place this month. As always, conferences are a good opportunity for parents to meet with their child’s teacher to review progress and to set learning goals for the school year.

At Coyote Ridge Elementary we strive to have 100% participation for our conferences. Please make every effort to sign up for a time during the allotted slots as it can be time consuming for teachers to be prepared and present for these meetings. That being said, if you do have some extenuating circumstance that prevents you from attending conferences, please feel free to schedule a separate meeting with your child’s teacher.

Having open and honest conversations take place between parents and teachers assures that everyone is on the same page and that any potential issue is addressed in a timely manner. The last thing we want to have happen is for a student to be struggling and for his/her needs to go unmet. On that same note, we work hard as a teaching staff to ensure all students are making adequate progress academically including challenging those students who are performing above grade level. Student success can look very different depending on the needs of each child.

At the end of this month we will be celebrating fall and Halloween with our annual Falloween celebration on October 26th. This festival is a great example of one of the ways our PTO supports our school with community events. We hope you all can join us for this celebration.

Finally, the midterm elections are right around the corner. There are some important school funding measures on the ballot at the local and state level. You can find out more about these measures at:
