Dear Parents and Guardians -
It is difficult to express how excited we are to welcome students back for the 2021-2022 school year. The numerous challenges we experienced with Covid last year have helped everyone appreciate the value and richness of in-person learning. While our students proved to be very resilient in the face of adversity, it was wonderful to have students in-person for the final few months of school last year to see how they thrived both academically and socially.
While we are not completely out of the woods with the pandemic, we are hopeful for a more “normal” school year. At the moment, we have fewer restrictions on student interactions in the classroom and during outdoor activities. It will be exciting to be able to allow for more collaborative learning within classrooms as students learn as much from one another as they do from their homeroom teacher.
We also have altered some aspects of instruction that will ultimately benefit students. We have focused even more attention on the social and emotional aspects of education and come to understand that connections with students are essential to optimal growth and development.
As always, we appreciate your support and value the way our community prioritizes public education. We look forward to seeing everyone and welcoming visitors and volunteers to our school. When you visit, please take a moment to check out our new playground and the book ends that have been painted on our stairs. The school building is in great shape and ready for kids to add life and energy to our halls.
Best wishes for what is sure to be a fantastic year!
