December Newsletter

Dear Parents and Guardians -

We are really getting into the holiday spirit at Coyote Ridge with plenty of excitement in the air. It is a special time of the year and also a time to give thanks for our many blessings.

As parents and educators, we often talk with children about the importance of reflecting on all that we have in our lives. We also encourage them to be kind and to look out for others.

This holiday, classroom teachers are receiving the book Change Sings: A Children’s Anthem by Amanda Gorman, which talks about the ability to make positive changes in the world, both big and small.

As a long time educator, one thing I always appreciate seeing is when children take action to do something about an issue they are passionate about. This may be writing about an issue of importance, lending a helping hand, or setting up a lemonade or food stand to raise money for someone less fortunate than themselves. This sense of urgency, and accomplishment once the task is completed, reinforces the idea that everyone can make a difference.

I am constantly reminded how fortunate I am to have a profession where I work with children. They are a source of light and inspiration in my day and a reason for hope for the future.

Happy holidays to all of you and best wishes for an enjoyable and festive holiday. While things are extra busy this time of the year, I encourage you to take some time to appreciate and reflect on the joy your child(ren) brings to our lives.

Sincerely,

Dr. Mike
