Please call our attendance line at 720-972-5797. Absences must be reported on Coyote Ridge's attendance line, even if the teacher has been notified of the absence. This number may be called at anytime to report an absence or tardy. Please leave a message with the following information:

• Name of person calling
• Relationship to student
• Student's name
• Date(s) of absence
• Reason for absence
• Teacher's name

Students are not permitted on school grounds earlier than 10 minutes prior (7:35 a.m.) to the first bell.  Walk-in students should also plan on arriving between 7:35 a.m. and 7:45 a.m. at the front of the building. Bussed students enter through the back (north side) of the building. Parents and daycare providers…DO NOT leave children unattended. Please wait until the front door opens to let students into the building. Upon arrival, students should go directly to their homeroom. Students arriving in the classroom after 7:50 a.m. will be counted tardy. Late students must enter the building through the front doors and receive a pass from the office. When dismissed, students must be picked up promptly.

Some concepts are not taught to the student before he or she is absent. If your student is sick, and you want to pick up his or her make-up work, the teacher will have that available to you the DAY AFTER the student is absent. Students will be given a period of the same number of days they were absent, plus one additional day to make up missed assignments, beginning on the next school day following the absence.

A recess break is provided for all children twice a day. Students have a grade level recess that takes place in the morning and recess at their lunch period. Precipitation, wind speed and low temperatures can cause recess breaks to be held inside. This determination is made by the principal when weather is poor. 

Because of the temperate Colorado climate, children are generally sent outside for recess. Children should dress appropriately for the season, and should wear warm clothing and boots during cold and wet weather. Students are not allowed on the lower playground when we have snow unless they are wearing boots.
