Cool Pandas serve Broomfield by cleaning up parks

A team of six 5th grade Gifted & Talented students at Coyote Ridge, known as the Cool Pandas, have been improving Broomfield one piece of trash at a time! As a solution to a Destination Imagination service learning challenge, the team met with Mayor Castriatta to ask for suggestions about how they could help the community of Broomfield. In light of the mayor's suggestions, the students decided to clean up our local parks, and so far they have cleaned up trash and recycling from 12 parks! The team, with the support of their GTA Mrs. Murphy, took their solution to the regional and state Destination Imagination tournaments, and they took home 2nd place at both competitions for their presentation! They are headed to Kansas City next to compete at Destination Imagination Global Finals, where they will compete with teams from around the world to share their important message!
