CRE Weekly Newsletter August 15

Dear Coyote Ridge Community,

It’s been such an amazing first week back at Coyote Ridge! We have enjoyed welcoming back all of our students and meeting our new Coyotes!

Reminders for arrival and dismissal

Please head over to the CRE website and remind yourself of our procedures for arrival and dismissal. We are doing pretty well in the morning, but the afternoon is still a work in progress. We will get there together and it will require everyone’s patience as our number one priority is getting students home safely. Additionally, in accordance with Adams 12 district policy, we can not have non service dogs in school property. I saw a lot of beautiful pups this week and I know they are a part of the family, but please leave them at home for arrival and dismissal. Thank you for your understanding.

Back to School Night

We hope to see you at our Back to School Night on Tuesday, August 26th at 4pm. Please head to the gym first, so that I can introduce our staff and PTO co-presidents. After a quick introduction, you can head to your child’s classroom for a presentation of what you can expect this school year. We will offer one session from 4:15- 4:45 and another from 4:45- 5:15. If you have two students at CRE, you will have an opportunity to attend both classrooms. If you have more than two students at CRE, please reach out and we can be sure that you receive all the necessary information.

Our first PTO/Principal Connect meeting of the year

We look forward to welcoming you to our first PTO/Principal Connect meeting on Tuesday, September 9th, at 8am in our CRE cafeteria. This will be an excellent opportunity for you to hear about the wonderful events and partnership opportunities that our PTO has planned for this school year. I will also share some updates about Coyote Ridge and some exciting opportunities that our school will have during the school year. Right after this meeting, we will host a parent volunteer training. If you are unable to attend, we will be sure to provide information that is shared so that you can be up to date as you come to volunteer this school year. This school year, we will be implementing a new system for signing up for parent volunteer opportunities with the goal of having a central location for all opportunities across the school (classroom, field trips, PTO, makerspace…). We are currently working to get all of our dates and times entered into the system and we will be sharing more information soon!

CRE Choir at the Rockies!

The Coyote Ridge Choir has been invited to sing the National Anthem for the Rockies again!  The game is on Wednesday, September 3 at 6:40pm vs. the SF Giants.  All third, fourth and fifth grade students are eligible to participate.  Please review the information below and return to Mrs. Harris by Thursday, August 14.

Mill Levy Override on November Ballot

When compared to nearby school districts, Adams 12 Five Star Schools ranks 14th out of 15 nearby school districts in per student mill levy override (MLO) dollars. That means we have less money than others for ongoing teacher salaries and academic programming. We have a solution. If voters pass an MLO in November, the district would secure much-needed funding to invest in safety, world-class staff and academic programming. Learn more.

School Accountability Committee

If you are interested in serving on the 2025- 2026 Coyote Ridge School Accountability Committee, please let me know. We will meet 4 times a year as we monitor Coyote Ridge’s school goals and student data. I look forward to another year of exciting work with our committee!

I hope everyone enjoys a restful weekend and we will see you on Monday for another exciting week at Coyote Ridge!

In partnership,

Carolyn Webb, Coyote Ridge Principal
