CRE Weekly Newsletter August 8

Dear Coyote Ridge Community,

Welcome to the 2025- 2026 school year! We could not be more excited to welcome all of you back for another amazing year at CRE! This is a lengthy email, but includes some very important updates, so please take a moment to read.

Open House/Back to School Night

We were so thrilled to see all of you at our Open House last night. Seeing all of your smiling faces coming back to Coyote Ridge made our day, we’ve missed you all. A special thanks to our PTO for setting up a fun photo booth and kicking off the school year with some spirit wear sales. I’ve included a snap from the photo booth of Ms. White (our assistant principal) and myself, if you have not had an opportunity to meet us yet- please say hello the next time you see us! We look forward to seeing you again at our Back to School night on Tuesday, August 26th at 4pm. This night provides an opportunity for you to learn more about the routines and expectations in your child’s classroom along with what types of learning and content they will engage in this school year. Each teacher will offer two sessions. From 4- 4:15, we invite you to join us in the gym for some staff introductions and a message from our PTO presidents. Our first classroom session will be from 4:15- 4:45 and our second will be from 4:45- 5:15. This will allow you to attend two different teacher’s sessions if you need to. Our sessions are back to back, so please be mindful that after your session our teachers will need to get ready for the next session quickly or need to head home after a long day.

Welcoming our new Coyotes!

Last week, we invited our newest Coyotes, our kindergartners, to come in for an introduction to kindergarten. We are so excited for all of them to join our learning community, they are a wonderful bunch! I also want to extend a warm welcome to our new Coyotes in grades 1st- 5th, we are thrilled that you have joined us!

Roof Update

Coyote Ridge was among the first schools in the district to receive a project through the 2024 bond. This summer, crews replaced our roof, which covers over 33,000 square feet. This project will enhance our building safety and enhance energy efficiency.

This is the first of many investments for our school. This year, we’re also slated to receive new fiber optic cabling throughout our building, which will enable faster network connections while preparing the school for new technology. In the coming years, we’ll also see investments in our school grounds, building interior and exterior, as well as safety and security. We’re grateful to the community for investing in our schools by passing the 2024 bond. Stay tuned for updates on future projects.

First day procedures

We are very excited to officially begin the new school year on Tuesday, August 12th. Please do not drop off your child prior to 7:35. Beginning at 7:35, we open our doors and continue a staggered student arrival through 7:50. Students may grab a breakfast to take to their classroom when they enter the building. Breakfast (and lunch) are free for all students. Parents can hug their little ones goodbye at the external classroom door (kindergarten) or at one of our entry doors (front of the school or the bus lane), parents will not be permitted to enter the building. To all of our returning families, please practice patience in the hug and go line/lane during the first few weeks of school as our new families learn the routine. ALL families (new and returning): please read (and re-read a few times) our procedures for our hug and go lane for morning arrival and afternoon dismissal. We have worked hard over many years to get this procedure to something that works very well and in order for it to be successful, everyone has to adhere to the procedures. Please do not be offended if a staff member or parent volunteer asks you to move your car all the way up or to wait for a moment, we're all in this together as we prioritize safety for our students. If you have any questions about our procedures, please call the front office and Paula or Christi would be happy to help.

Student Personal Technology Devices- very important update

In accordance with new Adams 12 district policy, students will no longer be permitted to have personal technology devices on their person or in the on mode during the school day at any Adams 12 elementary schools. This also applies to smart watches, Apple watches, etc. This is not a Coyote Ridge specific guideline, this is an Adams 12 district policy. To reiterate, all student cell phones and smart watches must be in a child’s backpack in off or silent mode for the entire school day. If a student is not adhering to this policy (after an initial warning), we will hold their device in the office for a parent to pick up. Students may have access to their smart devices after school and/or clubs to coordinate pick up, if needed.

Here is a link to the new district policy: Adams 12 Personal Technology Policy

See you on Tuesday morning!

In partnership,

Carolyn Webb, Coyote Ridge Principal
