CRE Weekly Newsletter Dec. 6

Dear Coyote Ridge Community,

Happy Friday! We’ve had a great week back at CRE! As much as we all love a break from school, we also love getting back into our rounties and feeling success here at school. Students came back ready to learn and we have been so happy to be back at Coyote Ridge! Only two more weeks until we are off again for winter break, so we are packing in a lot of learning (and fun) into these three weeks in December.

2nd Grade Field Trip

Our 2nd graders took a field trip to the Denver Center for the Performing Arts this week. They were treated to a performance of “Elephant and Piggies- We are in a Play!“. I did hear that the staff at DCPA were very impressed with our students and have welcomed us back anytime. Great job 2nd grade! You did a wonderful job representing our Coyote Ridge traits this week!

Broomfield FISH food drive

Our food drive for Broomfield FISH begins on Monday. This afternoon, student leadership dropped off collection crates for each classroom to begin collecting items next week.

The top items requested this year are:

  • Crackers

  • Cereal

  • Broth & Soup

  • Juice

  • Cooking Oil

  • Ramen & Dry Pasta

  • Baking Items

  • Toothpaste/Toothbrushes

  • Condiments

  • Shampoo

  • Individually Wrapped Snacks

...though any other non-perishable donations are welcome and appreciated! The two classrooms with the highest number of donations will win a class pizza party during the last week of school before Winter Break.

Pick up and Drop Off Reminders

Overall, we've been doing an excellent job during pick up and drop off this school year. Once the weather gets a little bit colder, we begin to see a slight dip in adherence to the systems we have in place for getting students into the building in the morning and safely home at the end of the day. Please pull ALL the way up in the hug and go lane. Pulling all the way up helps to get more cars into the hug and go lane and off of Broadlands Drive (and sometimes all the way onto 136th). We work hard to minimize the impact of our arrival and dismissal on the neighborhood and we greatly appreciate your support and adherence to our system. Additionally, please do not pull into the bus lane (back parking lot) for any reason (unless you have been directed by the school to drop off and pick up your child here). We need to be able to safely welcome and dismiss students from our back lot without having additional vehicles in the bus lane. Also, please do not cross from the front parking lot to the sidewalk in any other place but the designated crosswalk. Not only is this the safest way to cross, but it also models for our students best practices in parking lot safety. I truly appreciate all of your support in ensuring that we can get students in and out of the building safely each day.

In partnership,

Carolyn Webb, Coyote Ridge Principal
