As always, it’s been an exciting and busy week at Coyote Ridge.

Panorama Survey

If you have not already done so, please fill out the Panorama Survey from the link that was sent in January. There is a friendly competition between schools for the most respondents and we are lagging behind! We also love to hear feedback from our community! Please contact the front office if you need help accessing the survey.

100th Day

The very much anticipated 100th day of the 2024- 2025 school year arrived on Thursday! The 100th day is a big celebration in our kindergarten and first grade classrooms, but many students across the school got involved with the fun. We also celebrated the 101st day of school with a 101 Dalmatians theme! It has truly been a fun week!

Storytellers in Kindergarten

We are lucky to have some fabulous storytellers who come out monthly to tell stories to our kindergarten students. I am always amazed at how engaged our students are in the stories. We love being able to have the opportunity to bring diverse experiences to CRE for our students.

Staff Professional Learning Day

On Monday, we had an impactful day of professional learning for teachers here at CRE. Ms. Young, our Social Emotional Learning Specialist, engaged the staff with some self- compassion work. At CRE, we believe that students take their cues from our emotional state and we work hard to continue to work on ourselves to ensure that we are bringing our best selves to the classroom each day. Additionally, our instructional coach, Katie Dutro, led our staff in reflection and next steps based on our all staff book study of the Building Thinking Classrooms model. We are seeing excellent math growth from students, excellent problem solving skills and, in general, much more inquiry based thinking in the classroom. Our next step is to support students in increasing the rigor of the questions that they ask their peers and teacher, ultimately equipping students with the skills they need to have academically focused conversations at a higher level.

4th Grade In-Building Field Trip

Our fourth graders were treated to an at school field trip experience this week from History Colorado. What made this experience even more special is that one of our CRE parents, Katie Riggs, facilitated the learning opportunity for our students. Thank you Katie for the great learning experience!

Enrolling incoming kindergarten students

If you have a kindergartener who will be joining our learning community next school year, please contact Christi Bullock in the front office to get them enrolled for the 2025- 2026 school year. It is helpful for us to know who is coming as we plan for next school year.

Valentine’s Day

Be on the lookout for communication from your child’s teacher about the Valentine’s Day activities that will be happening in their classroom next week. We celebrate this special day as a class at school and students will look forward to sharing about their day when they return home on Friday ahead of the mid winter break!

GLOW DANCE IS TONIGHT from 6-8PM!

 Just a few reminders for this event:

*This is not a drop-off event, all students must be accompanied by an adult. Family members of all ages are encouraged to attend!*

*Only snacks and sweets will be provided so plan for dinner before or after the dance!*

*We'll have lots of fun ways for everyone to get their glow on - see you there!*
