CRE Weekly Newsletter March 6

Dear Coyote Ridge Community,

It’s been a very busy week at Coyote Ridge!

Check out what we have been up to…

Mwebaza Day

Today was one of our favorite traditions at Coyote Ridge, Mwebaza Day, and it was truly an incredible shared experience. This morning our community gathered for a live Zoom celebration with our sister school in Uganda, St. Paul’s School, reminding us how meaningful it is to learn and connect across the world. The event was filled with song, dance, laughter, and joy as students from both schools shared pieces of their culture and celebrated together. Our Mwebaza Club students did a wonderful job leading the event, helping create a space that honored friendship, gratitude, and global community. Moments like these remind us that even though we live thousands of miles apart, we are connected through learning, kindness, and shared experiences. Thank you to our Mwebaza partners, Ms. Pries, Ms. Paula, Ms. Dawn, Coach Seifarth and Nick (our tech guy) for making this event so special!

Talent Show

This week we held our Coyote Ridge Talent Show, and it was an incredible celebration of the many talents within our school community. Our students showed tremendous courage as they took the stage to sing, dance, draw, play instruments, and share so many unique talents. It was wonderful to see their confidence, creativity, and the way our community cheered one another on. A special highlight this year was something brand new, our very first staff music video! Our staff had a lot of fun putting it together, and the students absolutely loved seeing their teachers step into the spotlight. It added an extra layer of fun and community to an already fantastic evening. Thank you Melissa Kundrat, 3rd grade teacher, for putting the video together!!

Raptor Foundation visit

This week, Coyote Ridge students had an amazing visit from the Raptor Foundation, getting up close and personal with incredible birds of prey! Students were fascinated to learn about these majestic creatures, their habitats, and their unique behaviors. A huge thank you to our PTO for funding this unforgettable experience, opportunities like this make learning come alive and create memories our students will never forget!

Boosterthon

Get ready, Boosterthon kicks off next week at Coyote Ridge! This year, we’re raising funds for something truly exciting: to become the first elementary school in Adams 12 to offer band programs for 4th and 5th grade students. Boosterthon is always a fun and energetic way for our students to get moving while supporting our school, and this year the cause is extra special. Your participation helps bring music education to life, giving our students the chance to explore instruments, develop new skills, and experience the joy of performing. Let’s make this our best Boosterthon yet and hit our goal to start our band program next year!

February Golden Paw Winners

Congratulations to our February Golden Paw winners! Ms. White (Assistant Principal) – Thank you for your leadership, support, and dedication to our students and staff each day. Ms. Shelby (SSN Para extraordinaire) – Your care, expertise, and positive impact make a world of difference for our students. We are so grateful for everything you both do to make Coyote Ridge such a special place!

McElwain Library Book Drive

A big thank you to everyone who contributed to the refresh of the McElwain Library! The students and staff are absolutely thrilled with the book updates and are so thankful for our generosity. A special shout-out to Landis Coutzoukis, Coyote Ridge parent, for her incredible dedication and hard work in bringing this project to life, your efforts truly made a difference for our library community!

Student Led Assembly

Last Friday, we had an incredible student-led assembly that was so much fun! Students loved seeing all of our staff together and even caught on to our “secret” Spirit Day theme: ninjas! The assembly was full of laughter, especially when staff modeled a game for students, showing off some unexpected skills and silliness. It was a wonderful reminder of the joy and community that comes from students and staff celebrating together.

As a reminder, Monday, 3/9, is a day of professional development for our staff, we will see you on Tuesday, 3/10! Have a great weekend!

In partnership,

Carolyn Webb, Coyote Ridge Principal
