CRE Weekly Newsletter May 9
Post
Dear Coyote Ridge Community, Happy Friday! We’ve had a short but fun week here at Coyote Ridge. We engaged in some Depth and Complexity planning here at school on Monday during our professional development day and it continues to be so empowering to see the excitement and engagement from teachers as we implement this framework. I want to celebrate our students this week and all of the the important and valuable learning that has been happening outside of the classroom at CRE over the past week:
Honor Choir Our 5th grade Honor Choir participants performed at Horizon High School on Monday night, with the guidance and leadership of our music director, Stephanie Harris. These students have worked hard and we could not be prouder of them and their accomplishments!
Our 5th grade Battle of the Books team that went on to the district competition made it to the 2nd round of the championship. Fantastic work! Thank you to Ms. Toyama and Ms. Federico for all of the support you have provided for our Battle of the Books participants this school year.
Lions Club Relay This past Sunday, many of our students participated in the annual Lions Club Relay. As always, our students do a tremendous job and have so much fun. None of this could be possible without Sean Seifarth (Coach), Surasak Mungmee (our head custodian) and Erika Cowan (kindergarten teacher). Students have arrived at school early to practice for several weeks and their hard work paid off at the event. Congrats, Coyotes!
We look forward to seeing you at one of the many community events that we still have coming up in May: Spring Carnival, Field Day, 5th Grade Continuation, Last Day Picnic!
In partnership, Carolyn Webb, Coyote Ridge Principal
