CRE Weekly Newsletter Nov. 7

Dear Coyote Ridge Community,

We want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to our community for voting YES on 5B! Your support ensures continued funding for our schools, helping us maintain high-quality programs, attract and retain amazing educators, and provide the best possible learning experiences for our students.

Thank you for standing with our schools, our staff, and, most importantly, our kids.

You might have noticed our makerspace and one of our kindergarten classes featured in the celebration video. Thank you to our students and your supreme acting skills!

Join Us for Our Parent–Principal Connect next Tuesday!
We invite all families to join us for our next Parent Principal Connect meeting on Tuesday, November 11, from 8:00–9:30 a.m.

During this meeting, we’ll hear updates from our PTO and welcome a special guest, Anthony Muck, Adams 12 Director of Safety and Security. Mr. Muck will share information about districtwide safety and security procedures and precautions, as well as answer questions from families.

We hope you’ll join us for this informative and engaging conversation. Your partnership and participation make a difference.

Thank You to Walmart on 136th!
We are incredibly grateful to Walmart on 136th for their generous donation of nearly $1,400 to our school library! Their support helps us continue to update our furniture and create a more inviting space for our students to thrive.

Thank you to Walmart for investing in our students and helping our library thrive!

Mwebaza Partnership Update

This month, Mwebaza is celebrating some exciting news from its partner community in Uganda! The Mwebaza Foundation has been investing in social enterprises, and those investments are showing powerful results! A social enterprise is a business with a double mission: it not only aims to make a profit but also to make a positive difference in the community or the world. For Mwebaza’s partners, this means the businesses are run by local community members, and the profits they earn go directly back into supporting their local schools and school community. The organization is excited to announce that the profits generated by the community's social enterprises were enough to officially break ground on a brand new classroom addition at  St. Paul School, demonstrating the incredible power of community collaboration and the potential of social enterprises when everyone is invested in a shared goal. The community members worked hard in their businesses and the profits were thoughtfully directed to their children's education.

Questions to ask your student:

  • In Uganda,  our partner school communities are selling honey and driving taxis to help their schools. If you could sell anything to help your school, what would you choose?
  • What is the difference between a job that makes money for yourself and a job that helps the community?

Important Notice

If your household is being affected by the disruption in SNAP benefits, our school district - through generous donor support - can help with direct grocery support and connect you with additional community resources through the Student and Family Outreach Program.

Veterans Day

Lastly, if you are a Veteran or have a CRE grandparent who is, please invite them to join us on Tuesday, November 11th for a free lunch provided by Adams 12 Schools. Veterans should visit during the lunch period of the CRE student they are related to. All visitors will need to have their license scanned in the front office. We are looking forward to celebrating our Veterans!

Thanks for sticking with me through this big update!

In partnership,

Carolyn Webb, Coyote Ridge Principal

Note from Makerspace

We are in need of recylable materials for crafts: toilet paper and paper towel rolls, wrapping paper, small boxes, and other craft items.  Thank you!
