CRE Weekly Newsletter Sept.20

Dear Coyote Ridge Community -

It was so nice to get a taste of the fall weather this week! With cooler temperatures comes an influx of jackets and sweatshirts being left on the playground. Please use this change in weather as a time to remind your kiddos of the importance of keeping up with their belongings.

MakerSpace

Our Makerspace is up and running for the school year. We have new opportunities for exploration and enhanced capabilities with our 3D printers and some new technology options for students to explore. Thank you to the parents who have been coming in to support student exploration, we appreciate you!

Our MakerSpace is looking for donations of supplies.  If you have any of these items that are not needed at your house, please consider sending them to school with your student:  toilet paper/paper towel rolls, bracelet bands, Elmer’s glue, glue sticks, colored duct tape, scotch tape and packing tape, staples, rubber bands paper plates, plastic cups, cotton balls, pencil sharpener, gems, styrofoam balls, wooden circles and other shapes, card making supplies, clothes pins, pom poms, play-doh, foam stickers, acrylic paints, 81/2 X 11 construction paper. We would like to add donations of small kitchen appliances for disassembly projects.  Thanks for your help!!

Sister School in Uganda

This week, representatives from the Mwebaza Foundation came to talk to all grade levels about the incredible work they do to foster and grow our partnership with our sister school in Uganda, the St. Paul School. All students at Coyote Ridge have an opportunity to engage in this partnership and 1st- 5th grade students who are interested in learning even more can participate in our Mwebaza Club. Information about this club came home in Friday folders last week.

Additionally, you can learn more about the Mwebaza Foundation here: https://www.mwebaza.org/

Lockdown Drill

Unfortunately we were unable to conduct our lockdown drill today due to required safety personnel needing to be somewhere else at the time that our drill was scheduled. This does happen from time to time. They will connect with us next week to schedule a new time and we will let you know the week before it is scheduled.

Student Led Morning Announcements

As a reminder, you can view our morning announcements on the CRE website: https://coyote.adams12.org/our-school/morning-announcements.

We typically post announcements on the same day they are broadcasted or the following day.

Broomfield Days Parade

We hope to see you at the Broomfield Days parade this weekend! We are looking forward to having an increased presence this school year. Please see the latest PTO communication for specifics of how you can help and where to be to participate. Please remember that this is not a drop off event, caregivers will need to stay with their students for the duration of the pre-parade set up and parade.

In partnership,

Carolyn Webb

Coyote Ridge Principal

Parent request for GT nomination in grades K,1,3,4,5: COGAT nomination form

Share your safety concerns and ideas to improve transportation safety, especially around Broomfield schools at https://www.broomfieldvoice.com/btsap. Your input, combined with safety and collision data, will be used to create the Broomfield Transportation Safety Action Plan (BTSAP). The BTSAP will identify ways to improve safety on Broomfield’s multimodal transportation network and include both action steps and recommendations that aim to reduce crashes and serious injuries when traveling in Broomfield. The survey and map close on Oct. 1.
