Festival of Nations shows off strength of diversity

Community events are a great way for everyone to be together and to enjoy and celebrate our unique school culture. At Coyote Ridge, we have outstanding parents who support our school as we support their children. Our PTO helps to put on several events during each school year.

This week we had the Festival of Nations which is a celebration of cultural diversity at our school. The event was coordinated by our English Language Development teacher Mina Doy, and by Jessica Love who is a member of our PTO. The gathering was a huge success with students performing, families preparing informative displays about their culture, and several families bringing cultural food to share. We had a Persian dance troupe that performed as well which resulted in several students and adults attempting different dances. It was an enjoyable way to spend quality time with one another.

Events like this help to reinforce the many positive aspects of our school community and remind us how an exceptional elementary school can be a source of pride and unity for everyone that steps through the doors to bring life and joy into a building.

This story exemplifies our ELEVATE Focus Area: Diverse Learning. Sharing stories of how students receive engaging learning experiences and the focused-attention they need through appropriate student-to-staff ratios and varied programming.
