Dear Parents and Guardians -

The 2022-2023 school year is off to a terrific start! Students appear to be excited about being at school and excited about the daily learning taking place. We also have had an all school meeting with an emphasis on community and the importance of adhering to our PACK traits throughout the school day.

This month we will be conducting assessments and spending a lot of time utilizing our new literacy resource called Benchmark, at every grade level. This resource is researched based and supports the statewide goal of providing high quality instruction in reading and writing. While the units and blocks of time allocated for reading instruction are new for everyone, we are all in the process of learning together and making adjustments to meet the needs of our students. Please be on the lookout for information from your child’s teacher throughout the year as we focus on making the most of our instructional blocks.

In addition to utilizing Benchmark, we are paying close attention to the social and emotional needs of students. Setting aside time for morning meetings and a weekly social skills lesson is a priority as we appreciate the importance of a strong classroom and school community. Our goal at Coyote Ridge is to assure our students are prepared to make a positive impact on our society. To accomplish this, we know students need to be adaptable but also empathetic to the needs of others.

We look forward to the days and months ahead and thank you for entrusting the Coyote Ridge staff to educate your child. This is a special school community.
