Our Principal
I am very pleased to be a member of the Coyote Ridge staff. As the school principal, I often reflect on what makes Coyote Ridge Elementary such a special place to be. Much of our success can be attributed to our outstanding staff and teachers who are committed to meeting the social/emotional and academic needs of every student at our school. We also have a dedicated Parent/Teacher Organization that organizes community events, and raises funds to support different projects at our school. The parents of our students truly value education and work in collaboration with their child's teacher to assure students are making the appropriate amount of growth every year in relation to their own ability.
As a school, we value teacher collaboration focused on student achievement and growth. Teachers at Coyote Ridge participate in lesson studies where they observe one another in the act of teaching and reflect and ask questions to improve their professional practice. We also have taken a number of steps to ensure students are allowed opportunities for movement during the school day. Ultimately, I believe my job as the principal is to support teachers and students as they collaborate and learn from each other in a safe and respectful learning environment.
Prior to coming to Coyote Ridge, I worked as the primary principal at MEF International School in Istanbul, Turkey for two years and as the principal at Niwot Elementary in the St. Vrain School District for ten years. When I am not at school I enjoy playing soccer, traveling and learning about new cultures, spending time with my wife and two daughters, and taking advantage of the amazing Colorado outdoors.
I feel fortunate to work at such an exceptional school where staff members are focused on enhancing the strengths of all students and where parents work in partnership with teachers to ensure students achieve high standards.
