Deena Pries has been teaching at Coyote Ridge Elementary for thirteen years. She also teaches the (ESY) Extended School Year for our special needs population each summer. Outside of Adams 12, Deena has taught both in public and private schools in Jefferson County.
Her educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Early Childhood Education from Regis University and a dual Masters in Special Education (K-12) and Culturally Diverse Linguistic Education (K-12) from the University of Colorado, Boulder. Deena also serves on the Council for Exceptional Children and the Colorado Reading Association.
Deena considers herself to be a life-long learner who actively pursues ways to reach and teach all children. Deena always knew she wanted to be a teacher from the very first moment she entered in Kindergarten with her twin brother. Her teacher Miss Harlan taught Deena to believe in herself and that anything is possible. Learning is truly an adventure! "Looking at the stars always makes me dream." Van Gogh.
Deena resides in Arvada, Colorado with her husband and has three children.
