Hello Coyote Ridge Families! I am excited for another school year at Coyote Ridge!
A little bit about me:
I have lived in Colorado for twenty-seven years and am originally from the Midwest. My educational background includes a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Child Development and Child Psychology from the University of Minnesota -Twin Cities and a Masters of Arts degree in Special Education - Affective Needs and Mild-Moderate Needs Endorsements from the University of Colorado-Denver. I have taught in different areas of special education over the past 20 years.
I am a member of the International Dyslexia Association and attend annual conferences in Colorado. I am certified in the Yoshimoto Orton-Gillingham Basic Training Program. The International Dyslexia Association (IDA) has approved the Yoshimoto Orton-Gillingham Approach as an IDA certified program.
Learning is a never-ending adventure. There is always something new and exciting to discover, or challenging and difficult to figure out. My goal is to uncover students’ learning differences and teach them strategies to be independent and successful. I value the importance of building positive, caring relationships with students and creating a safe environment for them to become academic risk-takers.
I live in Broomfield with my husband, three children, two dogs, and one tortoise. I enjoy sports, walking the dogs, reading, baking, and “relaxing” with my three teenagers.
